Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Prowl ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy (prowljobtracker.app/privacy-policy). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Prowl is a job application tracking app for iOS. With your authorization, it connects to your Gmail or Microsoft Outlook inbox to detect and organize job application emails using AI classification. You can also manually track applications, events, and notes.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum digital consent age in your region) to use Prowl. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. You must also have the legal authority to grant inbox access permissions you provide to the App.

4. Account & Email Access

You grant Prowl read-only access to your inbox for the sole purpose of identifying and classifying job-related emails. Prowl will never read, store, or transmit emails unrelated to its classification purpose beyond what is technically necessary to scan for job-application signals. You may revoke inbox access at any time through your Google Account settings or Microsoft Account settings without deleting your data in the App. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and your email account. We are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to keep your device secure.

5. Subscription & Billing

Free Tier

The free tier includes one AI email sync during onboarding plus unlimited manual application tracking, forever free.

Prowl Pro

Prowl Pro unlocks unlimited AI email syncs, the Stats dashboard, and push notifications. Pro is available as a monthly plan ($3.99/month) or annual plan ($29.99/year).

Billing

All subscriptions are managed and billed by Apple through the App Store. Renewal, cancellation, and refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard App Store policies. We have no ability to issue refunds directly.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until the next renewal period after notice is given.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App; use the App to process or access emails belonging to another person without their explicit authorization; circumvent, abuse, or attempt to exploit the AI classification service, its rate limits, or any other technical measure; use automated scripts, bots, or other automated means to interact with the App or its backend services; or use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations.

7. Intellectual Property

Prowl, including all associated branding, design, logos, and software, is owned by Aidan Makare. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use Prowl's trademarks, trade names, or logos. Your use of the App is licensed on a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable basis solely for the purposes described herein.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with services operated by Google, Microsoft, Cloudflare, OpenAI, and Apple. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or reliability of any third-party service, or for any changes those services make that affect the App's functionality.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AI classification is probabilistic in nature. We do not warrant that all job-related emails will be detected, that no non-job emails will be classified, or that classification results will be accurate or complete. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AIDAN MAKARE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL AIDAN MAKARE'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store; access to Pro features will continue until the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or any applicable law.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
